Obama - O’Biden
Hey guys–Dave here, filling in for Josh this week while he breaks the house in Vegas.
I won’t bore you with any introduction except to say that my posts will be noticeably shorter than those by Josh. Just a stylistic difference.
Anyways, instapundit asks us a question:
IS THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN de-emphasizing Biden?
He’s mostly referring, I believe, to the fact that the font used for “Biden” in the Obama-Biden yardsigns is significantly dimmer than for “Obama.” To be honest, this was the first thing that caught by eye watching the C-SPAN coverage of the Saturday speech. So, is this a politically calculated maneuver to ensure that the older, less polemic and establishment figure doesn’t overshadow the rising star?
To me, these kinds of questions reflect a stupidity on our part to engage in the psychoanalysis of both campaigns. This likely meaningless difference in font, might be part of a tactic to subliminally keep Biden in the background, but just as likely perhaps is that its a psychological experiment to see how many blog posts can be produced on the difference of a couple of millimeters on the color palette.
This is almost as bad as the reporter, in the “Bird’s Nest,” running up to a sprinter who had just disqualified asking him (within 20 seconds of having done so) “how does it feel?”
